At AU Small Finance Bank, we are committed to settling deceased claims in a prompt and transparent manner. We follow RBI-prescribed processes to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience for nominees and legal heirs.

2) Understanding Your Claim

  • What is covered?
    Settlement of Savings/Current Accounts, Fixed Deposits, Safe Deposit Lockers, and Safe Custody Articles.
  • Who can claim?
    Registered nominees, surviving joint holders, legal heirs, or guardians of minor nominees.
  • Timeline
    We aim to settle all deposit claims within 15 calendar days of receiving a complete set of documents.

3) Claim Scenarios

A. With Nomination or Survivorship Clause

  • For registered nominees or survivors in “Either or Survivor” accounts.
  • Key Point: No Succession Certificate or court order required.

B. Without Nomination (Simplified: Up to ₹15 Lakh)

  • For accounts without a nominee where the total balance is up to ₹15 lakh.
  • Key Point: No third-party surety required for simplified claims.

C. Without Nomination (Above ₹15 Lakh)

  • Requirement: Standard legal documents (Succession Certificate / Letter of Administration) may be required, depending on the case.

4) Document Checklist

Standard requirements for all claimants:

  • Death Certificate: Original (for verification) or self-attested copy
  • KYC Documents: Aadhaar, PAN, or Passport of the claimant
  • Claim Form: Signed by all nominees/survivors
  • Specific Annexures:
  • Annexure I-C: Indemnity Bond
  • Annexure I-D: No Objection Letter
  • Annexure I-E: Declaration / Affidavit

5) Special Handling & Support

  • Locker Access: A transparent inventory is prepared in the presence of bank officials and independent witnesses.
  • Missing Persons: Claims are handled as per RBI guidelines (FIR / Non-traceable report required for claims below ₹2 lakh).
  • Delay Compensation: In case of delays beyond 15 days attributable to the bank, interest will be paid at Bank Rate + 4%.
